Colts’ Jacoby Brissett inspiring change in his hometown – one mile at a time

It’s the kind of memory that remains permanently etched in a kid’s mind. No, you never forget those midsummer bike rides with your friends.

The feeling of freedom. The wind in your hair. There’s nothing better.

That’s what this particular bike ride felt like for Jacoby Brissett. As he and others turned down Avenue S in his hometown of Riviera Beach, Fla., it immediately conjured up years of memories.

There was the middle school where he came of age. The gym where he became a highly recruited basketball player. The house he grew up in.

“I was just taking it all in,” the Colts quarterback said.

Though this bike ride evoked so many familiar feelings from Brissett’s childhood, the jaunt through the coastal town of 35,000 residents about 50 miles north of Fort Lauderdale was like none other.
